Parents and families are crucial partners for us in many ways. We expect that, as a parent, you’ll be looking for a school where your child can, not only achieve their maximum potential, but can also enjoy their learning.
We would like you to share that enjoyment and join in with our learning community. We want you to feel confident in supporting your child outside of school, to help him or her become a highly successful learner. When we say parents we include all those who are carers for children including foster parents, guardians, step parents and grandparents.
Many of us involved in the Academy have children at primary school and the Head Teacher, Mr Fairburn, has been working in primary schools for over 20 years. We realise that to help your child you need to understand what and how they are learning at school, what progress they are making and the kinds of activities that will help them. We spend time with parents so you feel up to date with the way children learn these days and confident in supporting them outside of school.
Parents, teachers and children make a great team. Parents are always welcome at the school and are invited to regular coffee mornings with the Headteacher and governors. Parents also have opportunities to come along on school trips and class visits.
We know you will have lots of questions you want to ask us about King’s Cross Academy, especially as it is a brand new purpose built school. We want to hear your questions and answer them. We are collecting questions from parents as we meet them and publishing them in the Information section for everyone to read.
